Challenging Times
Organization starts at the darndest times. I was laid up for awhile, healing from a hip replacement. I thought I was prepared. Meals in the freezer, clothes laundered, cupboards stocked. Lists after list written & fulfilled.and the first week went by fairly flawlessly. BUT, healing from a hip replacement takes longer that a week. Way longer than a week. And don’t get me wrong, Mr Wonderful is so good about helping out. I however, Had not properly prepared and organized someone else stepping into my shoes. Not to mention, we each have our different way of accomplishing the very same task. And lest we not forget I had ample time to tune into all these DIY shows! A disaster in itself. Nevertheless, Mr Wonderful acquiesced to my ‘brain farts’ and went along with changes in the location & furnishings in 4 different rooms in our home. Out guest room/office was relocated down the hall to a much larger room to allow for the construction of a Murphy bed sometime in the 21st century. The craft room was moved to the formerly vacated guest/office room with less space, but better organized and easier to reach items for my variety of masterpieces that I put together. The family room had furniture moved around and furniture added and some taken away. The biggest challenge was/is the master bedroom. The idea to sell our 15 year old, espresso colored mission style bedroom set and replaced with waterfall furniture dating back to 1921 was such a magicifent brain fart, who could possibly turn me down? Certainly not Mr Wonderful! We bought pieces that were “challenged”. Missing pieces, full headboard that needed to be a queen headboard. Going from a king to a queen sized bed takes ample planning and organization. In itself!! But, the end result is turning out fabulously! We have 2 nightstands to go. The are gutted old victrolas with the best hiding places in them. Photos to follow as well as links for some organizational products to help with any brain farts you have going on.
